The "2030 Leaders Programme" , launched by MiSK Foundation and powered by Esade and a consortium of partners, aimed at supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 agenda, in lights of the current economic and social reforms. The programme is targeted at 1000 high-potential male and female leaders in the country and focuses on growth and development by embracing new technologies and sustainable development.

Dr. Badr Albadr, CEO of MiSK Foundation, emphasized the importance of the "2030 Leaders Programme", ‘which will take leaders on an extraordinary journey, build their sphere of influence to drive the Kingdom's transformation agenda’. Dr. Albadr highlighted that ‘the future we aspire to achieve requires leaders armed with unrelenting fortitude and a strong sense of leadership

According to Marc Correa, Dean of Esade Executive Education: ‘We are rethinking the executive educational approach with a new learning ecosystem that brings together academic, consulting, and scientific partners. Partnership with MiSK Foundation leads Esade to a more personalised learning experience based on knowledge and leadership – and with a focus on widening the measurement of the programme’s impact beyond skills and knowledge to include career changes and society’.

Multiverse ecosystem with five academic partners

The programme academic design is the best example of a new approach to executive education and addresses the needs of a post-pandemic business world and its leaders. The programme emphasises the value of creating a ‘multiverse ecosystem’ that creates a core curriculum by bringing together traditional business education partners and new entrants, such as scientists, consulting companies, and EdTech start-ups. According to Marc Correa: ‘this new take on executive education enriches the experience for participants’.

The five learning partners involved in this innovative and hands-on approach are: the global consultancy Accenture; the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL); HR consultancy Willis Towers Watson; CERN – the scientific research laboratory; and Minerva Project– a Silicon Valley based EdTech.

Focus on impact measurement

The quality of the programme’s real impact will be measured at four levels: reaction in terms of engagement; learning in applying knowledge and skills; behaviour applied by participants on the job; and with societal impact at the highest level.

According to Marc Correa: ‘Impact monitoring is unfinished business in higher education. New technologies enable us to evaluate the impact of our programmes on the lives and jobs of our participants and society. In other words, how the knowledge and skills acquired during the programme create social impact’.

Experiential leadership journey

Chief Programs Officer of MiSK Foundation, Omar Najjar, explained that through the "2030 Leaders Programme" ‘MiSK Foundation is moving towards a new era of transformational leadership training that builds the leaders' behavioural and intellectual flexibility to drive change, explore possibilities and transform obstacles into opportunities.’ He also emphasized ‘the importance of the rigorous selection process of the program to attain the highest calibre of Saudi leaders driven by their skills and their desire to contribute to the nation's vision.’  To strengthen the impact of the program and further root it in the Saudi context, Misk Foundation developed a proprietary competency framework that informed an extensive selection process design and overall learning journey.

The sequence of contents and learning activities follow the development of an innovative business initiative – from the birth of an idea to its consolidation as a successful enterprise. That is, from awareness to discovery, then building the business model, and growing the business at scale while focusing on innovation, change, and sustainability. The program provides a comprehensive and consistent approach for participants to learn managerial skills for planning and implementing innovative value propositions and business models. For nine months and through five learning modules, participants are supported by a coaching process and gain the skills to develop leadership and experience. At the centre of the programme, the capstone project enables participants apply their new skillsets in small groups to solve the major social and economic challenges facing Saudi Arabia.
