ESADE Business and Law School is teaming up with Deutsche Bank to offer a training programme on banking and financial markets for the bank’s employees. The programme will guarantee that all employees involved in the sale of investment products will have a university-level education. Deutsche Bank is the first bank in Spain to introduce a programme of this sort.

The programme will target professionals in the bank’s Private & Business Clients division, including branch managers, private and corporate account managers, and financial agents.

The programme is led by Juan Ignacio Sanz, Associate Professor of Banking and Securities Markets ESADE. “Under the new securities market regulations, banks must provide extra training for workers on banking-related topics, and they also require that employees have comprehensive knowledge of toxic products,” explained Prof. Sanz.

Luis Martín-Jadraque, Director of the Investment Centre at Deutsche Bank Spain, declared: “We have launched this pioneering initiative in order to train our employees so that they can continue to offer top-quality service to our clients. Our staff already has a high degree of financial knowledge. Indeed, Deutsche Bank is always ranked near the top in independent surveys of service quality and customer satisfaction in Spain. This programme is another step that we are taking to guarantee excellent customer service.”

Training on investment products

The training courses consist of various academic modules that cover all phases in the process of selling investment products. Deutsche Bank employees will study concepts such as financial profitability, investment factors, risk profiles and the taxation of investment products.

The bank’s decision to launch this programme is directly related to its commitment to customer service. In recent years, this commitment has been reflected in customer-satisfaction rankings in the banking sector, such as the consulting firm STIGA’s EQUOS study, in which Deutsche Bank has received top ratings for the past several years.
