ESADE and CEOE mark the end of the second Promociona programme for female executives
Ana Plaza, Secretary-General of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organisations (CEOE), and Rosa Urbón, Director of the Women’s Institute for Equal Opportunities, hosted the closing event of the second Promociona programme at the CEOE headquarters in Madrid. Also in attendance were Ignacio Garralda, President of Mutua Madrileña, and Patricia Abril of McDonald’s – the patrons of this year’s programme – as well as Johan Christopher Vibe, the Norwegian Ambassador to Spain, and Enrique Verdeguer, Director of ESADE Madrid.
In addition to CEOE and the Spanish Ministry of Health, the entities involved in Promociona include the Norwegian Embassy, ESADE and EEA Grants. The aim of the programme is to help women secure jobs in upper management, executive posts and seats on corporate boards. So far, 26% of the women involved in the programme have received a promotion. Promociona has achieved other good results, as well: this year a total of 70 female executives participated and more than 50 companies committed to the programme’s aims. The women chosen to participate in the programme have an average of 15 years of professional experience, hold a degree in business or engineering, and occupy a position of responsibility at a company.
Promociona executives identify female talent within their organisations or communities and encourage other women to pursue ambitious professional goals and achieve excellent results for their companies, thereby hastening the arrival of diversity and equality in the upper echelons of the business world.
