Momentum Project Spain, an initiative of BBVA and ESADE, presented at CIEM Zaragoza
The Momentum Project Spain is a programme led by BBVA and ESADE, in collaboration with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), that provides support to social entrepreneurs.
The fourth edition of the Momentum Project Spain was presented on 16th January at 7.00 pm at CIEM (Centro de Incubación Empresarial Milla Digital), a business incubator owned by the city of Zaragoza and managed and coordinated by the Init Group.
The presentation provided an excellent opportunity for the initiative to reach out to possible candidates and make contact with members of Zaragoza’s entrepreneurial community. To be eligible to participate in the Momentum Project, an organisation must have at least two years’ experience and be able to demonstrate the viability and sustainability of its business model.
It must also have a positive impact on a particular social or environmental problem and be able to scale this impact, either by expanding into new markets or by adapting to new communities or regions in order to benefit as many people as possible.
The presentation featured the participation of Olga Porro, Coordinator of the Momentum Project, ESADE Institute for Social Innovation; Carlos Piñeyroa, Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centres at the Init Group; and María Erquiaga Mendoza, Director of Social Programmes and Sponsorship at BBVA.
Selection of finalists
As the first step in a three-stage selection process, candidates must register using an online application form that will be available until 17th February. From this pool of applicants, eligible candidates will be pre-selected to go on to the next stage.
Subsequently, the pre-selection Committee, a multidisciplinary team composed by representatives of the organizing institutions, will make the review of candidates to select the 20 that will pass to the third stage. From this moment on, detailed financial information, answers to questions of tax and legal type, and an explanatory video overview of a minute will be requested.
Finally, Momentum Project Scientific Committee, integrated by social, business, academic and financial sector experts, will meet at the end of April to select the 10 social companies that will participate in the program.
