ESADE has once again been named one of the top ten business schools in Europe, placing sixth in the European Business Schools ‘ranking of rankings’ published by the Financial Times today. The ranking is intended to provide an overview of business schools by taking into account the various programme rankings the British newspaper published over 2016. ESADE’s excellent showing helps to consolidate its positioning in the ranking, alongside such prestigious institutions as London Business School, HEC and INSEAD.

For Josep Franch, dean of ESADE Business School, ‘The Financial Times’s recognition of ESADE in its rankings for more than a decade now reflects the quality of the school’s programmes and its ability to adapt to the reality of an increasingly globalised and digital economic and business environment.’ Referring to ESADE’s innovative ‘Student First’ teaching system, he added, ‘It is a system characterised by excellence and centred on students and their needs.’

Global leaders in internationalisation and career development

To compile the European Business School ranking, the Financial Times takes into account European schools’ standings in the various rankings it publishes throughout the year evaluating Executive Education programmes (including both open-enrolment programmes, for the general public, and customised programmes, tailored to companies), and MBA, executive MBA, and Master of Science (MSc) programmes.

With regard to the 2016 Executive Education ranking, published in May, ESADE placed eighth in the world for the third consecutive year. The Financial Times underscored the customised support the school provides to participants (an aspect on which ESADE ranked first in the world). These outcomes are underpinned by ESADE’s high-quality partnership agreements with other international schools and its excellence in enabling its students to acquire managerial skills and abilities, areas for which FT ranked ESADE second and fourth in the world, respectively.

As for ESADE’s Master in Finance, in June this year, the British publication underscored the career development of students on the programme, who find jobs within three months of graduating. Indeed, the school ranked first worldwide in this regard, a standing complimented by its positioning in the rankings for the services offered to students to find work at international companies (sixth worldwide) and the development of skills enabling them to work anywhere in the world (seventh worldwide).

Internationalisation was also key to the ESADE MBA’s eighth-place positioning in Europe and twenty-third place worldwide in FT’s 2016 MBA ranking. The international diversity of the students (95%), the international mobility of graduates (seventh worldwide), and the international experience offered in the classroom (twelfth worldwide) all bolstered these positions.

Finally, last September, the Financial Times also ranked the school’s Master in International Management (MIM) ninth in the world, highlighting the global mobility of participants (third worldwide), their career development following graduation (eighth worldwide), and their high degree of satisfaction with the programme (tenth worldwide).
