ESADE participates in a new EU project to improve mobility across Europe
ESADE is participating in a major new EU-funded project, the European Cloud Marketplace for Intelligent Mobility (ECIM). The ECIM will develop a state-of-the-art solution for smart mobility that combines the powerful cloud capabilities of an existing cloud-based platform with new functionalities that facilitate the easy migration of existing city services and the innovative creation of new ones. Pilots in Barcelona, Paris and Brussels, plus a proof of concept in the Birmingham region of the United Kingdom, will validate the ECIM solution by submitting existing services to the platform.
The Barcelona pilot, to be coordinated by ESADE, will involve collecting the main stakeholder’s requirements, analysing and specifying the scenarios to ensure that they express the abilities and aims of the city/living lab, training city administrators, providing and installing the necessary infrastructure for effective system operation, launching strategic PR and marketing campaigns to engage users, and carrying out user surveys and questionnaires to evaluate and validate the ECIM.
According to Victoria Cochrane, Head of European Project Management at the Research and Innovation Development Office, "Coordinating the Barcelona Pilot is an exciting opportunity for ESADE to build upon our work with urban and living labs, and to test open innovation in the public sector. We are very pleased that Barcelona was selected as one of the test-beds for this innovative platform for smart mobility services."
