ESADE Law School launches new international tax law programme to boost business expansion abroad
In keeping with its focus on globalisation and internationalism, this autumn ESADE Law School will be launching a new programme called International Tax Law Specialist, which targets professionals specialised in tax planning.
In today's global reality, where it is easier than ever before to relocate businesses, income and assets overseas, to make capital movements, and to change one's residence for tax purposes, there is a growing demand for professionals who know how to design efficient planning mechanisms and eliminate tax contingencies and who are familiar with the jurisdictions of different countries.
The new ESADE Law School programme covers all of the training needs in this technically complex field under an integrated vision of the problems and solutions that tax law presents for investments by non-residents in Spain as well as for Spanish investments in other countries.
Many companies – both small and large – interact daily with suppliers and customers in other countries and are working to internationalise their business; as a result, this aspect of international tax law is expected to become increasingly prominent.
Public and private sectors
ESADE will offer the new course in both Barcelona and Madrid. It is designed for tax consultants employed by law firms or companies as well as professionals with experience in matters affected by international tax law, such as corporate attorneys responsible for international affairs, auditors, private banking professionals, business executives and finance directors.
The course will follow a practical methodology and the teaching staff will include top international tax consultants from prestigious law firms, such as Montserrat Trapé (KPMG), Valeri Viladrich (PwC), Isidro del Saz Cordero (Roca Junyent), Sebastián Piedra (Crowe Horwath) and José Luis Prada (E&Y). Prominent representatives of the public administration, such as Néstor Carmona (Spanish Tax Agency) and María José Garde (Spanish Ministry of Finance), will also be on the teaching staff.
