ESADE and Ironhack team up to train leaders for the digital era

The agreement with Ironhack highlights the importance of practical training in the field of digital and reaffirms ESADE’s commitment to innovation in its academic offer in order to reflect new business realities

ESADE Business & Law School and Ironhack, a leading international bootcamp for web developers, have signed an agreement to allow ESADE students to take Ironhack courses. Under the agreement, students of ESADE’s Master of Science (MSc) Programmes in Management, Master in Business Administration (MBA) and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) will be able to broaden their training in the field of digital.

‘Over the last few years, more and more managers and product directors have ended up leading digital projects or tech companies. This can create a lot of tension in the company when these executives don’t “speak the same language” as the teams they lead’, explained Olaya García-Lancha, director of MSc programmes at ESADE. ‘Through this agreement, we want to train a new generation of entrepreneurs and leaders in the digital industry so that they not only better understand their product and business, but also connect more directly and sincerely with their employees and customers’, she stressed.

A new generation of digital entrepreneurs and leaders

Students enrolled on MSc programmes, including the new Master of Science in Business Analytics (MIBA), as well as MBA and BBA students beginning next academic year, will be able to supplement their training with the acquisition of new skills to lead digital strategies at companies and organisations in the digital environment. Through Ironhack’s programmes, students will learn to ‘manage the latest digital trends shaping new technologies, understand the entire value creation process in the new digital environment, and successfully lead a company or organisation committed to digital transformation’, said Josep Franch, dean of ESADE Business School.

According to Ironhack founder Gonzalo Manrique, ‘The agreement between ESADE and Ironhack highlights the importance of practical training in the digital field. These courses will equip students with the tools they need to build digital products, start businesses, and successfully compete for jobs at tech companies.’

ESADE students will be able to choose from the three courses Ironhack offers: its Web Development Bootcamp, available in part-time and full-time versions, in which students learn to code and build a digital product; and its UX/UI Design Bootcamp, focused on design thinking and user-centred design (UCD). ‘This agreement reaffirms ESADE’s commitment to innovating in its academic offer and implementing new formats and content that make studying at ESADE a fresh, cutting-edge experience that reflects the new business realities’, stressed García-Lancha.
