Dr Josep Franch, new director of Esade Executive Education
Dr Josep Franch, professor at Esade, has been appointed the new director of Executive Education, a managerial position on Esade’s Executive Committee. As the new head of the school’s Executive Education unit, Josep Franch will contribute not only his academic experience as associate professor in the Marketing Department but also his considerable professional track record at Esade spanning 35 years, including a series of outstanding achievements whilst dean of the Business School from 2014 to 2022 such as consolidating the prominence of its main programs in academic rankings, opening learning laboratories on the Rambla of Innovation and pursuing the progressive internationalization of the business school’s campuses.
With this appointment, Esade will continue to bolster the position of Executive Education as a benchmark for excellence in the training of executives, having established itself in recent years amongst the leaders in the most noteworthy international academic rankings. The Financial Times, for example, ranked Esade as the fourth best business school in the world for executive education. With its significant focus on technological innovation, Esade Executive Education responds to corporate needs by training responsible professionals and leaders capable of managing the changes arising from the technological revolution and making a positive impact on society. Track record interwoven with globalization
The new director of Esade Executive Education has a PhD in Business Administration and Management from Esade. He joined the school in 1988 and, prior to his appointment as dean, was the head of the Marketing Department and also in charge of developing master’s degrees at Esade Business School following the creation of the European Higher Education Area. Josep Franch has extensive teaching experience in several countries, is an expert in international marketing and his main specialist area is the design of marketing strategies and the management of global products and brands. In the teaching landscape, he is a leading expert in the case study method, having won several awards and international acclaim. His previous experience includes marketing manager in companies such as Fujifilm, and consultant for companies including Novartis, Sony and Xerox.
