A young entrepreneur with a passion for sustainability and recycling has won the 2016 edition of the ESADE Entrepreneurship Institute’s Inspiring Young Entrepreneurs competition. Gabriel Espín, a 29-year-old mechanical and industrial engineer from Terrassa, is the founder of Anyplast.com, a marketplace launched in 2014 to buy and sell recycled plastic independently, saving costs. Espín is also the founder of RecuperoL, a company that buys and sells post-industrial plastic waste for reuse in secondary products.

The competition also had two notable finalists. David Mayoral, the 23-year-old co-founder of Erle Robotics, was one of the acknowledged entrepreneurs. Erle Robotics is the creator of Erle-Brain, a robot brain designed for educational, research and innovation purposes.

Clara Campo, a 27-year-old architect from Barcelona and co-founder of Amarist Studio, was also a finalist. Campo designs conceptual furniture that combines art and quality materials to create limited-edition pieces.
