In an era where everyone is beset by anxieties due to the tensions and risks perceived in the world, focusing on internal development might seem frivolous. However, the underlying assumption that justifies these objectives is quite the opposite. 

Indeed, we are acutely aware that the world is deteriorating, with increasing information on how and at what speed social and planetary imbalances are escalating, and on the swiftness with which we are venturing into uncharted territories where no one can claim immunity from the worsening conditions. It is not surprising, for instance, that the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have been proposed internationally, encompassing areas where urgent action is imperative for humanity, with the recognition that none of these goals can be achieved in isolation from the others.
