Leadership is evolving: caring for teams and the planet

The concept of leadership has undergone a constant evolution. Common qualities for effective leadership have been identified from the teachings of philosophers such as Ortega y Gasset to the inspirational influence of contemporary figures such as Greta Thunberg.

These qualities include the ability to provide a clear purpose, surround oneself with competent people, serve as a role model, encourage the growth of others, maintain team motivation, and work toward change and social impact. This recurring pattern suggests that effective leadership starts with self-awareness and culminates in a positive impact on individuals and society.

The business world offers challenges that require constant adaptation. These challenges can be seen in three key dimensions: the search for sustainable results; the creation and management of highly committed teams; and the ability to adapt to an environment characterized by technological advances such as rapid digitalization and artificial intelligence. The speed of change is remarkable and leads to a near future intertwined with the present.
