The Esade faculty welcomes new talent
The eight new members joining the Esade faculty in 2022-23 have outstanding international track records, been educated at prestigious universities and have experience in different spheres of knowledge ranging from e-innovation, enterprise and machine learning to organizational behavior and corporate social responsibility. With these new members, including six women, the Esade faculty increases to 161 professors with 21 different nationalities, a reflection of the school’s commitment to classroom diversity and its on-going adaptation of approaches and methodologies to meet the real-life requirements of organizations, thereby maximizing the social impact of academic research.
Professors at Esade are characterized by their close links to the business world, law firms and other organizations, and also their acclaimed expertise in their respective fields of research. The consolidated professional experience and in-depth research and consulting activities of Esade professors all contribute, from a global standpoint, to better management practices and the leadership of today and tomorrow.
The new professors joining the Esade faculty this academic year are:
• Rita Mora. Assistant Professor in the Department of Society, Politics and Sustainability at Esade. She holds a PhD in law from King’s College London, an LLM from Católica Global School of Law and a law degree from the University of Lisbon. Before joining Esade, she was a research fellow at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford (United Kingdom). She is a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Bath School of Management (UK), collaborating with the non-profit Global Legal Action Network (GLAN) on a climate change legal case. Her main areas of specialization are business ethics, human rights and organizational studies. Her research focuses on corporate social responsibility, organizational purpose and legitimacy, human rights and business, role morality and the ethics of corporate communications.
• Annelore Huyghe. Associate Professor in the Department of Strategy and General Management at Esade. She holds a PhD in Applied Economics and Entrepreneurship and a Master of in Applied Economics and Corporate Finance from Ghent University, Belgium. She is an expert in sociology applied to the creation of new companies. The focal areas of her research are the interaction of emotion and cognition in actions and the well-being of entrepreneurs, and the entrepreneurial mindset in market categories and in academic enterprise.
• Anna Ocampo. Assistant Professor in the Department of People Management and Organization at Esade. She has a PhD in Organizational Behavior from the Australian National University, a BA in Psychology and a Master in Human Development from De La Salle University, Philippines. She is an expert in organizational behavior, leadership and people management. Her research focuses on understanding the personal and contextual circumstances that bolster career advancement opportunities for people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
• Laia Pujol Priego. Assistant Professor in the Department of Operations, Innovation and Data Sciences at Esade. She has a PhD in Management Sciences from Esade, a Master in Political Science from the Paris Institute of Political Studies (SciencesPo) and a Degree in Political Science from Pompeu Fabra University. She has been a visiting researcher at the McDonough Business School of Georgetown University and The Lisbon Council for Economic Competitiveness and Social Renewal. Her research focuses on digital innovation and particularly the business implications of the development and commercialization of Deep Tech and major scientific technologies, infrastructures and data governance.
• David López López. Senior Lecturer in the Marketing Department at Esade. He is an Electronics and Telecom engineer, has a Master in Project Management and a PhD in digital strategy from the International University of Catalonia. He also holds an MBA from Esade and The Fuqua School of Business. He is an expert in e-marketing, eCommerce and strategy and the digital transformation of companies. He has more than 20 years of professional experience in IT. He has founded several start-ups and consulting firms.
• Verena Schoenmueller. Assistant Professor in the Department of Marketing at Esade. She has a PhD in Marketing from the University of Basel (Switzerland). Before joining Esade, she belonged to the faculty of Bocconi University, Milan. Her main areas of knowledge are related to e-marketing and social media, political marketing and machine learning. Her research studies how the content generated by users themselves in different digital channels affects and reflects actual consumer behavior.
• José Antonio Rodríguez Serrano. Senior Lecturer in the Department of Operations, Innovation and Data Sciences at Esade. H has a PhD in Computer Science and a Master in Computer Vision from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He has more than 16 years professional experience in Artificial Intelligence (IA). His area of specialization focuses on innovation using machine learning and AI.
• Tanushree Jhunjhunwala. Lecturer in the Department of Economics, Finance and Accounting at Esade. She holds a PhD in Economics from The Ohio State University. She has taught at different establishments such as Washington College of Maryland (USA). She is an expert in microeconomic theory, behavioral economics, experimental economics, information economics, public economics and political economics. Her research combines behavioral economics with experimental methods to better understand consumer search behavior, social preferences, and power dynamics in political and organizational settings.
