On 16 January, Germán Castejón (Lic&MBA'81), a member of the ESADE Foundation's board of trustees, presented the ESADE Challenge for Talent campaign within the framework of the Refresher Programme session "10 successful trends in people management and organisation. What are the winners doing?" given by Andrés Raya (MBA ‘89).

More than 50 people attended the session, which took place at the Mallorca Chamber of Commerce. The Balearic Islands Club, chaired by Ángel Puig (Lic&MBA'92), thus joined the effort to achieve ESADE's strategic goal of increasing the endowment for merit-based scholarships through an alumni fundraising campaign.

The Balearic Islands Club collective scholarship will pool the donations of the club's members to offer a young student from the Balearic Islands with talent but limited financial means the chance to study at ESADE.

Talent is key to allowing ESADE to continue to grow and remain an international leader. Hence, the importance of this pioneering initiative, led by an ESADE Alumni club. According to Puig, "100 alumni can make this a reality by donating €8 a month, the equivalent of one and a half coffees a week."

The ESADE Alumni Balearic Islands club is made up of more than 500 alumni and holds regular training and networking activities for its members.

One of the greatest challenges of the ESADE Challenge for Talent campaign is to encourage all alumni to give their support. ESADE Alumni’s regional structure, the institutional involvement and the leadership of the club and chapter presidents and class delegates are thus critical to the campaign’s success.
