The founding partner of Bluecap, Maite Barrera Xaubet, was named President of ESADE Alumni during the association’s last Management Board meeting held on June 14th. The new President had served as a member of the board since 2011 until becoming the first woman president in the history of ESADE Alumni. Barrera replaces Joaquín Uriach Torelló who held this post for the previous two years, promoting a new strategic plan for the association. Uriach resigned as ESADE Alumni President after being named President of ESADE’s Board of Trustees. However, he will continue to be a member of the ESADE Alumni Management Board.

As President of ESADE Alumni, Barrera has also become a member of ESADE’s Board of Trustees. She described her satisfaction, in this respect, arguing that “it will strengthen the relationship and collaboration between both and will make us stronger.” She stated that she was excited to assume both posts and that, “after two years dedicated to successfully implementing our new strategic plan, we’ll focus on strengthening the alumni association’s commitment to ESADE, for example, by promoting the Scholarship Programme. We’ll also continue promoting new formats to encourage networking between alumni and provide a personalised offer adapted to each alumni profile.”
