KIC InnoEnergy's first sustainable energy award to target Spanish entrepreneurs
Under ESADE’s collaboration agreement with the European company KIC InnoEnergy Iberia, Jan Brinckmann, Associate Professor in the Department of Strategy and General Management at ESADE, has been appointed as a member of the KIC InnoEnergy Award final selection committee, which will meet on 16th December.

The KIC InnoEnergy Award is the first sustainable energy competition launched by KIC InnoEnergy in Spain. This initiative aims to recognise the best cleantech business models and foster the entrepreneurial spirit of an industry that plays a strategic role in the Spanish economy. The winner will receive a €10,000 cash prize, three months of office space in the KIC InnoEnergy business incubator, six mentoring sessions with ESADE faculty members, and media coverage of the winning project.
"With this award, which complements the support we provide to entrepreneurs, we aim to recognise good business ideas in the energy sector and the ability to pitch them in a professional, attractive manner. We also aim to encourage people with business projects who have the potential to present their proposals.", adds Josep Miquel Torregrosa, business creation officer of KIC InnoEnergy Iberia.
In 2011, ESADE was one of the universities that led the creation of KIC InnoEnergy, which now has 27 formal partners. Experts from ESADE will be participating in the initial evaluation of entrepreneurs interested in joining the KIC InnoEnergy Highway programme. ESADE is also organising a summer school on entrepreneurship and business administration for students in its master’s and doctoral programmes.
