ESADE has made a splash in a new ranking by The Economist that evaluates, for the first time, the quality of Master in Management programmes in all over the world. ESADE Business School is the only Spanish school in the global top 10 for this category; in fact, two programmes offered at ESADE made the list: ESADE's Master in International Management (10th place) and the CEMS Global Alliance's Master in International Management (9th place). The CEMS Global Alliance is an international institution comprising 30 of the world's most prestigious business schools, and ESADE is the only school to offer the CEMS Master in International Management in Spain.

The factors that helped ESADE's Master in International Management earn its spot in the ranking include the potential of the school's contact network (an area in which the programme is ranked #4 worldwide) and the personal development and educational experience of students (#8 worldwide).

Josep Franch, Dean of ESADE Business School, commented: "It's big news that The Economist has ranked our Master in International Management in the top 10. This is important recognition for the programme, which just celebrated its tenth anniversary and was the first Master of Science (MSc) to be offered at ESADE. Today, we have seven MSc programmes and a total of 500 students enrolled in them." He added: "The MSc programmes are specifically designed for recent university graduates, or those who have limited professional experience. They provide a high level of training, specialisation and professionalisation. Their aim is to meet companies' demand for talented, high-potential young people who wish to pursue a career in complex, multilingual and multicultural environments." Finally, Dr. Franch noted: "Thanks to their design, the MSc programmes are in increasingly high demand on a global scale. Indeed, even top American universities have started to offer them."

Second recognition this year

Because MSc programmes – which originated in the European Higher Education Area – have been so successful outside of Europe, The Economist chose to include programmes offered by Asian and American schools in this first edition of the ranking. The Financial Times was previously the only organisation to publish a global ranking of Master in Management programmes. In fact, last September the newspaper ranked ESADE's Master in International Management #9 in Europe.
