Starting this October, ESADE Business School will be offering an international edition of its Corporate MBA (CMBA) in Lima, Peru, in collaboration with the Postgraduate School of the University of the Pacific and the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University.

According to Xavier Gimbert, Director of ESADE in Latin America, "The CMBA is a programme taught by three great business schools in three very different places: Latin America, Europe and the United States. It is therefore a global programme for Peru, a country that has opened itself up to the world and will continue to do so. This programme responds to a clear need in Peru."

Intensive sessions will be held Thursday to Sunday for 14 months. This format is designed to allow executives and business owners to continue to work while they pursue the CMBA.

The CMBA is the only programme in Peru designed for executives with at least five years of professional experience in management or executive posts. Through an interdisciplinary approach that combines strategy and leadership, participants will comprehensively consolidate their knowledge and skills, enabling them to increase the value of their companies and their collaborators.

Dr. Gimbert added: "The programme covers key areas of knowledge for executives in the year 2014, and it also emphasizes executive competencies and skills, which, in today’s world, are just as important as knowledge – or even more so."

Executives participating in the programme will develop their competencies and skills by means of ESADE’s Leadership Assessment and Development Programme (LEAD). This method involves personal coaching sessions, working with peers, and using of a wide variety of tools. The objective of the LEAD method is to maximise participants’ leadership potential in three areas: personal understanding (through activities and tests); comprehension of individual behaviour in organisations and teams (through group activities); and leadership styles and team coaching.

The CMBA will be taught by faculty from ESADE, the Postgraduate School of the University of the Pacific, and the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. ESADE faculty participating in the course include Manuel Alfaro, Guillermo Amen, Jordi Brunat, Josep Lluís Cano, Marc Cortés, Xavier Gimbert, Ignacio Guitart, Lluís Martínez-Ribes, Andrés Raya, Ricard Serlavós and Jordi Vinaixa.

On completion of the programme, participants will receive two academic degrees (Corporate MBA from ESADE and Master in Business Administration from UP) as well as a certificate of participation in the module at the McDonough School of Business.

Dr. Gimbert concluded: "On completion of the CMBA, the participants will become part of the alumni networks of the University of the Pacific and of ESADE, which has nearly 50,000 graduates. This is a huge advantage in terms of professional relations."
