ESADE ranked in the European top 3 by the Financial Times' business school ranking
ESADE has extended its remarkable rise in the rankings for a sixth consecutive year. The business school is now number 3 in Europe, according to the Financial Times’ European Business School Ranking (also known as the “Ranking of Rankings"). To provide an overview of the continent’s business schools, this annual list combines the various programme-based rankings (Master in Management, MBA, Executive MBA, Open and Custom Executive Education) published by the British business daily over the course of the year.
ESADE has climbed two spots since last year, capping a historic rise in the Ranking of Rankings over the past six years. This trend reflects the school’s focus on guiding executives in the implementation of their business strategies.

According to Alfons Sauquet, Dean of ESADE Business School, “ESADE’s presence near the top of all the Financial Times’ rankings reflects the school’s commitment to excellence in all of its programmes in recent years. This result is a testament to the ongoing improvement of all of our programmes as well as the overall quality and strength of our institution, in particular our ability to adapt to change and to help graduates and companies achieve their goals.
All programmes recognised
In this year’s Ranking of Rankings, ESADE’s programmes have been rated among the best in Europe: its Master in Management (MIM) took 9th place in Europe, its MBA took 8th place and its Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) took 7th place. ESADE’s Executive Education programmes were also well ranked: the school’s open and custom programmes took 5th and 3rd place, respectively.
Specifically, ESADE earned its highest marks for the design of its programmes, the quality of its faculty, and companies’ perceptions of the value of its programmes in today’s economy.
High marks for internationalisation
ESADE’s high degree of internationalisation was among the factors most highly valued in all of the Financial Times’s rankings. ESADE has more international students and corporate clients than any other business school in the world. In keeping with ESADE’s commitment to multiculturalism, the school has developed a growing number of courses that target a diverse executive audience and have been imparted outside of Spain.
The best example of this is ESADE’s Global Executive MBA (GEMBA), which is noteworthy not only for its global nature but also for the diverse range of nationalities represented in the classroom. The 45 students in this year’s GEMBA course hail from 15 different countries: Brazil, Bulgaria, China, El Salvador, France, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, the United States and Mexico.
ESADE’s Bologna Master ranked among the world’s best
In the most recent Financial Times ranking, the Bologna-compatible Master in International Management (MIM), the Master in Finance and the CEMS Master (a global programme offered in Spain only at ESADE) were ranked 10th, 5th and 7th in the world, respectively.
For the third year in a row, the Financial Times ranked ESADE’s MIM programme number 1 in the world in employment mobility. The MIM was also given high marks for the rate of international job placement among its graduates. Fully 93% of MIM graduates secure employment outside of Spain, especially in countries such as the United States, Germany, France and the United Kingdom.
