ESADE launches EWorks, a new initiative to help turn future entrepreneurs' business ideas into reality
The iniciative provides young entrepreneurs with all the tools they need to turn their business ideas into reality. This is precisely the aim of EWorks, ESADE’s new initiative for the creation of companies targeted at ESADE Business and Law School students and recent graduates.
EWorks thus joins EGarage, a reference on the ESADE Sant Cugat campus for creativity and teamwork in the framework of new projects, and ESADECREAPOLIS, an innovation ecosystem uniting students and companies.
“EWorks is an ESADE initiative designed to help create companies. We want to provide all the tools and ease for ESADE students to create companies, explains Jan Brinckmann, EWorks Academic Director. “EWorks is the natural evolution of EGarage, the source of inspiration, with workshops, knowledge pills and group work. At EWorks the founders have their own space to launch and make their ideas reality. With this initiative we want to stimulate and continue to support the creation of companies by ESADE students and recent graduates, declares Luisa Alemany, Director of the ESADE Entrepreneurship Institute (EEI).
EWorks is based on three pillars: EFounders Meetups, a meeting point between successful entrepreneurs and students for the latter to present their business ideas and get feedback; EAccelerator, an accelerator where participants can develop their ideas during three months; and ESpace, a co-working space where participants can work together on their projects.
Idea: EFounders Meetups
Entrepreneurs, advisers and experts will serve as mentors for programme participants. The aim is for students and recent graduates to present their business ideas and for the experts to support and give them advice on their proposals.
These series of meetings will be held fortnightly. Of all the ideas presented, only the best will be accepted to take part in the EAccelerator.
Development: ESpace
Teams will be able to work on their projects in ESpace, a co-working facility to help them to develop their projects and for future entrepreneurs to get together.
Acceleration: EAccelerator
For three months, professors, researchers and entrepreneurs linked to EEI will guide participants to help them further develop their ideas. Week after week, they will give students challenges and objectives that the latter will have to complete to make their business a reality. When the three months are over, students will present their projects at the Demo Day Final, an important event in which various investors will sit in on the presentations and meet up with the teams whose ideas they liked the most to discuss possible investment terms.
ESADE is the only Spanish business school included in the Financial Times’ ranking of the top 10 MBA programmes for entrepreneurs. With this new initiative, ESADE furthers its support for entrepreneurs.
