ESADE Professor and Vice Dean of Faculty Cristina Giménez Thomsen has been invited to serve as Co-Editor in Chief of the International Journal of Operations and Production Management (IJOPM), one of the world’s leading journals in the operations sector. This appointment recognizes Prof. Giménez’s research contribution to the field of operations management.

Prof. Giménez will serve alongside scholars Constantin Blome, Professor of Operations Management at the University of Sussex, and Tobias Schoenherr, Professor of Purchasing and Supply Chain Management at Michigan State University. The new team of editors will begin work on the journal from the 2018 volume.

“I look forward to helping advance our research field with the publication of theoretically sound and practically relevant research that the world needs to notice,” said Prof. Giménez Thomsen.

The IJOPM is a global leader in the publication of empirical research in the field of operations and production management. The peer-reviewed journal is known for its rigor and impact, as well as the publication of many influential papers that have contributed considerably to the field of operations management.

About Cristina Giménez Thomsen 

Prof. Giménez Thomsen graduated summa cum laude from the Doctorate in Business Administration at the University of Barcelona and obtained the Institute of Logistics (UK) Student of the Year Award in the MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Cranfield University.

Her teaching and research interests are supply chain management, logistics integration processes and the impact of logistics on performance.

Her recent papers have been published in the International Journal of Physical Distribution & Logistics Management, the International Journal of Operations & Production Management, the International Journal of Integrated Supply Management and the International Journal of Logistics Management.

Prof. Giménez Thomsen has teaching experience in both operations management and supply chain management in undergraduate, graduate and in-company courses. She is also the coordinator of the ESADE Research Group on Business Network Dynamics (BUNeD).
