2026 Esade Sustainability Week

The 2026 Esade ESG Investing Challenge is an experiential learning initiative in which students manage a simulated one-hundred thousand dollar portfolio in the U.S. market over the course of two months. The challenge has a dual objective: to maximize financial returns while rigorously integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria into every investment decision. Through this experience, participants connect theory with the real practice of sustainable finance, learning to analyze companies beyond their traditional financial metrics—identifying material risks and growth opportunities through an ESG lens, a skill that is increasingly strategic in a sector where sustainable investing has experienced exponential growth in recent years.

At the end of the challenge, participants prepare a reflective report in which they articulate their investment strategy, the challenges encountered, and the key lessons they take away from the experience—thus consolidating learning that goes far beyond portfolio performance.

We are delighted to invite you to a special internal event for our employees, dedicated to celebrating the progress we have made in sustainability over the past few years. In a world that increasingly demands sustainable practices, book circularity offers a simple yet powerful way to reduce our environmental impact. Choosing second-hand books prevents waste, saves resources, and allows stories to keep traveling—extending their lifespan and cultural value.

During this Sustainability Week, we welcome Jeanne Lepine, founder of L'occasion rêvée, a second-hand bookstore that proves reading can also be an act of environmental responsibility. Through her experience, we will explore how everyday choices—like picking up a pre loved book—can help foster a more conscious and circular future

Join us on the Sant Cugat campus for an inspiring aromatic plants workshop in collaboration with the Fundació Gaspar de Portolà. Together, we’ll plant and care for aromatic species while learning more about the foundation’s meaningful work through inclusive employment. The European Union's "CSDDD" directive obliges large companies to take responsibility for human rights and the environment throughout their entire supply chain, even outside of Europe. We will analyze how this regulation "crosses borders" to influence third countries, generating a debate between protecting universal values and respecting the sovereignty of other nations. Ultimately, we will explore whether the EU has the authority to impose its sustainability standards on the rest of the world.

The objective of this activity is to introduce French students to the Fusion Point and the various projects they carry out (courses, challenges, methodology, research, etc.). They will discover how interdisciplinary teams work on projects that have a social impact on society. Additionally, they will be able to see some of the prototypes of the projects carried out by the students.

After conducting their research in class, the students will attend a presentation in French by Laura Bellorini and Imma Rueda and visit the Fusion Lab and other spaces on the Rambla of Innovation. Based on the information received during the presentation, the visit, and their questions, the students will transfer this knowledge and their experience to other French students from another program.

Walking allows us to meet nature, creating a bond of care and respect towards it. This walk will give us the opportunity to walk from the Barcelona Campus to the Sant Cugat Campus, through the Collserola Natural Park. It will take approximately three hours. The return to Barcelona will be by train from the Sant Cugat station.

Activity open to the entire community.
