Del benestar digital a la innovació socialment responsable

As part of the event “Créixer en digital: drets, propòsit i co-responsabilitat”, held on 17 February 2026 and promoted by the Chair for Socially Responsible Digital Innovation at Esade and the Exea Impact Foundation, the Chair’s director, Professor Liliana Arroyo, delivered the talk “Del benestar digital a la innovació socialment responsable”, focused on corporate responsibility regarding the social impact of technology.

Her talk proposed a paradigm shift: it is not only about mitigating risks or protecting children in digital environments, but about generating positive and meaningful impact from the very design of innovation. This requires integrating a rights‑based perspective into technological development and acknowledging that certain functionalities—especially those aimed at children and young people—demand clear limits and responsible decisions from the outset. Early and widespread access to mobile devices reinforces this reality: the phone has become a true gateway to the digital world and a rite of passage between primary and secondary education.

At SoReDI, the commitment is clear: combining a critical, data‑driven perspective with the identification and promotion of initiatives that are already working. Highlighting positive experiences helps illustrate possible pathways while advancing regulatory frameworks and a culture of co‑responsibility that places the wellbeing, rights and development of children, adolescents and young people at the centre of digital innovation.

We invite you to watch the full keynote and reflect on how to move from digital wellbeing toward innovation that is truly socially responsable.
