2nd edition: Esade-ISS Sustainability in the Workplace Barometer
The second edition of the “Esade-ISS Sustainability in the Workplace Barometer”, produced by the Esade Institute for Social Innovation in collaboration with ISS Spain, analyses the evolution of the sustainable workplace and explores how companies are integrating ESG criteria into their workspaces, organizational culture, leadership models and decision-making processes.
This new edition broadens the scope of the first Barometer by incorporating a comparative 2024-2026 perspective, a specific analysis of the positioning of the sustainability function within organizations, and an integrated reading of the main global ESG trends. The study includes the participation of 46 companies from 13 sectors of activity, making it possible to identify progress, continuity and gaps between the perceived relevance of sustainability and its actual level of implementation in the workplace.
The report is set against a context marked by geopolitical uncertainty, regulatory pressure, climate transition, technological transformation and changing expectations among workers. In this scenario, the workplace is consolidated as a strategic space where sustainability becomes visible, or is contradicted, in the everyday experience of organizations.
The report also presents a ten-point set of recommendations to move towards more sustainable, human, resilient and innovative workplaces. These recommendations summarize the main learnings of the study and offer a roadmap for organizations to translate sustainability into decisions, spaces, relationships and forms of leadership that are more coherent with today’s challenges.
