Artificial intelligence is being rapidly integrated into everyday life, influencing not only how we work or consume, but also how we relate to each other. After Esade’s participation in 4YFN Barcelona 2026, one idea stands out: the real challenge is not only technological, but social. Why is such a powerful technology not contributing more to well-being, connection and sense of belonging?

From the perspective of prosocial AI, the focus must be on designing algorithms that strengthen social cohesion and respond to urgent human challenges, such as unwanted loneliness among young people. In the words of Liliana Arroyo, the prosocial future of artificial intelligence does not depend on how each person uses it, but on how it is conceived and put in the world by those who have the capacity, and the power, to design it for purpose.
