“Fem bondat”
Those who love macro-focuses tend to ridicule kind-hearted people.
In Catalan, we have a wonderful recommendation for children: “Fes bondat”. This is not the same as the moralizing order, “behave”; nor is it the idealistic, “be good”, or the forbidding, “don’t do” or “don’t be”. No. It simply underscores the importance of kindness with an obvious emphasis: Kindness is done; it’s a way of living and behaving in life.
Is this recommendation only for children? In an increasingly inhospitable, hard, bitter and uncertain world, it might seem that kindness pertains to the saintly realm of good intentions.
