Impact
AID3 creates impact by translating rigorous research in AI and statistics into methods, tools, and practices that organizations can use to govern data-driven decisions responsibly. Our work addresses a central challenge for business and society: AI systems are being adopted quickly, but many organizations still lack reliable ways to evaluate their risks, monitor their behavior, and understand how people respond to them.
We support organizations by developing governance frameworks, fairness and bias-auditing methods, evaluation protocols, and model lifecycle tools that make AI systems more accountable and easier to monitor. These contributions help reduce operational, reputational, and compliance risks while improving the quality and trustworthiness of decision-making.
We also generate impact through human-centered AI research. By studying how people interpret recommendations, ratings, explanations, and algorithmic feedback, we help design AI systems that work with human judgment rather than replacing or distorting it. This is especially important in high-stakes contexts such as healthcare, digital platforms, and organizational analytics.
AID3’s impact extends to research standards and education. We develop reproducible methods, open protocols, and evidence-based guidance that strengthen the quality of AI evaluation. As part of Esade, we also bring these insights into business education, executive training, and engagement with companies, institutions, and the wider AI ecosystem, helping current and future decision-makers adopt AI responsibly.
