At the conference "Public-Private Collaboration: Challenges and Horizons," organized this morning by the Public Management Committee of the College of Economists of Catalonia (CEC), the current and future importance of collaboration between public administrations and the private sector was discussed in depth and from a broad perspective, addressing the main problems and most relevant opportunities. The conference was given by Mònica Reig, Associate Director of the Center for Public Governance at ESADE, who focused her presentation on how to improve the efficiency of public management through collaboration with the private sector. She emphasized that this is a strategic and comprehensive activity at the service of public policies and in which we can achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. On the other hand, he noted that the differences in power and responsibility between the two types of agents generate mistrust, and the differences in values, strategies, cultures, expectations, and so on, lead to distance, misunderstandings, and sometimes, conflict.
