The Global Annual Energy Meeting – 10th edition (1/3): Fit for 55
Fit for 55: Accelerating the Energy Transition and the Re-industrialization of Europe
Europe aims to become the world’s first climate-neutral continent by mid-century. Fulfilling this ambition will involve transformations on every level, starting immediately. To that end, the European Commission proposed in 2021 the Fit for 55 legislative package: an extensive review of the Union’s climate and energy framework to enable the EU to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030.
At the 10th edition of the Global Annual Energy Meeting, Esade’s Center for Global Economy and Geopolitics (EsadeGeo) will host, together with the Representation of the European Commission in Spain and EIT InnoEnergy, a series of events to explore the social, economic and geopolitical impacts of these policies, which will feature on the negotiating table in 2022.
