The seminar ‘Un nuevo escenario de seguridad nacional’ - A new scenario for national security, took place on November 23, 2023, at Esade Madrid campus. Co-organized by EsadeGeo and the Esade Center for Corporate Governance, this event is part of the seminar series ‘‘El regreso de la geopolítica a la agenda del Consejo de Administración’’ - The Return of Geopolitics to the Corporate Board. It gathered experts and business leaders to discuss how global changes are redefining corporate strategies.

The seminar was moderated by Juan Moscoso del Prado (Senior Fellow at Esadegeo) and included Mario Lara (Director of Esade Madrid and the Center for Corporate Governance), Emma Fernández (member of the Advisory Board of the Esade Center for Corporate Governance), Jesús Díez Alcalde (Head of National Security Analysis Unit) and Emiliano López Atxurra (president of Petronor and Board Member for Repsol) as participants.

During their interventions, different issues were discussed related to the main topic of the event, such as what the risks are for companies posed in current geopolitical and geoeconomic context, the need for boards of directors to take a geopolitical perspective that allows them to anticipate these risks, and the role the economic dimension plays in the national security strategy in Spain and at a European level.
