The seminar ‘¿El fin de la cadena de suministro global? - The end of the global supply chain?’, took place on February 6, 2024, at Esade Madrid campus. Co-organized by EsadeGeo and the Esade Center for Corporate Governance, this event is part of the seminar series ‘‘El regreso de la geopolítica a la agenda del Consejo de Administración’’ - The Return of Geopolitics to the Corporate Board. It gathered experts and business leaders to discuss how global changes are redefining corporate strategies.

The seminar was moderated by Angel Saz-Carranza (Director, Esadegeo) and included Miguel López Quesada (Former President of Alcolea), Alicia García Herrero (Senior Fellow, Bruegel) and Belén Romana (Independent Board Member at Santander, Werfen, Six y BME).

During their interventions, different issues were discussed related to the main topic of the event, such as the central role China currently plays in the global supply chain and the critical dependencies it generates, the different strategies boards of directors need to develop to overcome the changes caused by the emergence of  the Global South and the increasing multipolarity and the additional costs it implies for companies, highlighting the need of a long-term legislative framework favourable to industries.
