The breakfast-workshop ‘Oportunidades para el sector público y privado en la iniciativa del Global Gateway’, co-organized by EsadeGeo and Col-lab, took place last Thursday, January 18^th at the Esade Madrid Campus. 

The event gathered representatives from the public and private sectors to discuss the implications and opportunities offered by the Global Gateway (the European initiative launched in 2021 that marks a turning point regarding development cooperation) as well as its latest developments, such as the creation of the Business Advisory Group or its new investment package. The meeting succeeded in promoting a debate on key aspects of its functioning among the actors closest to its implementation in the Spanish context. 

Attendees included Félix Fernández-Shaw (Deputy Director General responsible for Directorates A, B, C, DG INTPA), Laura Atienza Urcelay (Team Leader for Private Sector, DG INTPA) and Eva Del Hoyo Barbolla (Director-General of Sustainable Development Policies, Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation).
