Mujeres juristas en los Consejos de Administración de Empresas Familiares Cotizadas
Talking about family-owned firms in Spain implies talking about 89% of the Spanish business fabric and its resilience and adaptation to change, traits which have defined these firms throughout their history and enabled them to overcome the challenges of recent years. In addition, it represents a sector which favours the presence of women in governing bodies and in which the role of legal experts is fundamental.
This study undertaken by the Esade Centre for Corporate Governance and Women in a Legal World in collaboration with Diligent, examines gender diversity in the context of publicly-listed family-owned companies in Spain and further explores the issue of diversity amongst board of director profiles, focusing on legal experts with a global perspective.
This study serves to expand our previous study, “Mujeres Juristas en los Consejos del Ibex 35” (“Female Legal Experts in Ibex-35 Company Boards of Directors”), which underscored the numerous and relevant advantages of having women with legal profiles on boards of directors.
