The Spanish Association of Executives and Board Members (EJE&CON) and Esade have signed an agreement that will enable them to promote various initiatives for the dissemination of knowledge. Both will cooperate in the encouragement of training in the fields of good corporate governance and diversity – which are key to the development of businesses and society.

Esade and EJE&CON will organise virtual conferences on good governance and corporate strategy for directors. In addition, Esade will offer specific training programmes that provide the in-depth knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for decision making and boardroom debate on corporate strategy.

The agreement was signed by Nerea Torres, president of EJE&CON, and Mario Lara, director of Esade Madrid, who explained that: ‘a diverse board of directors is a new opportunity to advance towards equality based on merit and ability’. The Esade programme for board members and the corporate strategy programme for board directors offer executives and board members the knowledge, tools, and resources to form part of a modern board of directors, in a collaborative environment based on the exchange of ideas and experiences.

EJE&CON has always focused on the search for talent – and the visibility of women in senior management and their access to the boardroom. Nerea Torres commented that: ‘training, and more so if it is provided by a partner like Esade, is an essential strategic value to promote professional skills and the best talent regardless of gender or age. In the current environment, it is essential to face the new challenges with innovative formulas to successfully overcome the serious economic problems that lie ahead’.

The signing of the agreement was also attended by: Rosa Allegue, vice-president of EJE&CON, president of the Talent and Development Committee and director of the board member programme; Beatriz Sánchez Guitián, vice-president of EJE&CON and co-director of the board member programme; and Magda Malé, vice-president of EJE&CON, president of the Talent and Development Committee, and director of the EJE&CON Non-Gendered Talent Awards.
