The Rector of the Universidad Pontificia Comillas, the Rector of the University of Deusto, and the Director General of Esade have signed the constitution of a new foundation for the ‘Jesuit Advanced Management School.’ The three Jesuit-inspired institutions have combined their strengths to create an innovative new centre in Madrid for postgraduate training with an international scope.

The project will take the form of a new independent postgraduate training centre, specialising in management and business, which will be located in a new building in Madrid. The centre will offer master’s programmes in various areas of business management and leadership. It will be complementary to the higher education activities of the three organisations in Madrid, and build on their experience and prestige.

The centre’s programmes will use the most advanced teaching methodologies and technologies, as well as offering a highly international approach. Likewise, the educational proposal, considering the values shared by the three organisations as centres linked to the Society of Jesus, will be oriented towards the training of ‘people who help others.’ Such people are recognised as the best leaders for the world, and are characterised, in addition to their professional competence, by the development of all facets of their personality, as well as by their ethical commitment to a society that is increasingly just and sustainable.

When the Foundation is formally launched, details of the project will be presented to the educational community and alumni of the three organisations.

For Esade, in the words of its Director General, Koldo Echebarria: “the participation of Comillas, Deusto, and Esade in this new project of the Society of Jesus reflects the commitment of the three organisations to supporting talent and higher education from an innovative and international perspective. The new centre will enable Esade to strengthen its presence in Madrid, where it has been present for 30 years.”

Julio L. Martínez, Rector of the Universidad Pontificia Comillas, said: “this project aligns with the strategic objectives of our university by enhancing our international positioning; encouraging educational innovation; and increasing our commitment and social impact – with a special emphasis on alumni. This launch will help deepen our identity as a university of the Society of Jesus, an aspect that permeates all of our activities.”

The Rector of Deusto, José María Guibert, stressed the importance of collaboration and networking. “The strengths of Deusto, Comillas, and Esade have a clear multiplier effect, both in the mission and vision of each of the organisations, and in the development of an innovative and transformational training offer. We aim to ensure that this new centre becomes a benchmark in the world of master’s degrees – and I hope that it will also be the seed for further collaborations,” he said.
