The impact of the pandemic on the rental market: is rent regulation advisable?

Five years’ of climbing urban rents have revealed the problem of accessing this type of housing.

In response to this problem, several entities have suggested rent regulation legislation. In the present policy insight, we demonstrate that such regulation is neither timely, nor convenient in terms of effectiveness, nor adequate in terms of fairness.
