On 3rd, 4th and 5th September, the deans of Latin America’s most prestigious business schools will meet at ESADE for the 49th Annual Assembly of the Latin American Council of Management Schools (CLADEA).

The programme of activities will include four Deans’ Sessions, which will feature the participation of important figures such as Manola Sánchez, Dean of Adolfo Ibáñez University in Chile; Javier Yáñez, Dean of the University of the Andes in Colombia; Flavio Vasconcelos, Dean of FGV-EBAPE in Brazil; and Robert F. Scherer, Dean of the University of Dallas. At the sessions, participants will discuss topics such as cooperation with European and North American networks, fundraising, alumni, Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) programmes, and recruiting.

CLADEA currently has 202 member institutions from 30 countries in Latin America, North America and Europe. ESADE Business School is a member of this select group of institutions and, as the host of this year’s Annual Assembly, will be playing a fundamental in the event.

This year, the CLADEA Annual Assembly takes on special importance. The theme of the event highlights the need to build bridges of collaboration, taking advantage of globalisation processes in order to establish strong solid links between institutions so that they can develop the necessary skills to grow in today’s increasingly global world and better serve their respective communities.

Javier Solana, President of ESADEgeo, will deliver this year’s first keynote address, entitled “The Challenges of a Global World”. The second keynote speaker will be Della Bradshaw, Business Education Editor at the Financial Times.

The fruitful relationship between CLADEA and ESADE dates back many years. In September 2000, on the occasion of CLADEA’s 50th anniversary, ESADE hosted the 35th CLADEA Annual Assembly. Now, in 2014, ESADE is proud to be renewing its ties to CLADEA.
