Scholarship Program

You can apply if you are a student residing in Spain with an outstanding academic record but insufficient financial resources. You can benefit from this scholarship throughout your undergraduate degree.

• Covers 100% of tuition fees
• Residents in Spain
• Family income of up to €90,000
• Excellent academic record (8.5+ out of 10 or the equivalent in international education systems)
• For students with significant financial need who do not reside in Barcelona, the scholarship may also cover accommodation (for households with an annual income below €60,000).

You can apply for this scholarship if you are a student from any geographical background with significant financial need and a strong academic record, and you are interested in studying BITLASI — the Bachelor in Transformational Leadership and Social Impact.

• For students with significant financial need who do not reside in Barcelona, the scholarship may also cover accommodation (for households with an annual income below €60,000).

You can apply if you are a student from any geographical background with a strong academic record but insufficient financial resources.

The scholarship can be renewed for every year of your undergraduate degree or double degree and can be combined with an Income Share Agreement (ISA). (See the Scholarship Programme Terms and Conditions for details.)

• Family income of up to €130,000
• Excellent academic record (8.5+ out of 10 or the equivalent in international education systems)
• Can be combined with an ISA

There are two types of Diversity scholarship:

• Diversity 50 — for candidates with a grade of 8.5 to 9 out of 10, or the equivalent in international education systems
• Diversity 75 — for candidates with a grade of 9.01 to 10 out of 10, or the equivalent in international education systems

Either type may be awarded alongside an Income Share Agreement (ISA). You can apply for an ISA if your family income is below €130,000.

At Esade, family income is the sum of all annual income received by members of the family unit.

This includes, among other sources:

• Income from employment (salaries, pensions, benefits, etc.).
• Rental income.
• Income from economic or business activities.
• Income from financial investments and real estate.
• Capital gains or returns on assets.
• Any other recurring or one-off source of income.

The sum of all these items constitutes the family income taken into account when assessing financial need and evaluating the scholarship application.

You can apply for a scholarship once you have been admitted to the undergraduate degree or double degree you wish to study, that is, after receiving your Acceptance Letter. At that point, the Admissions Department will assess whether your academic profile meets the requirements to apply for a scholarship. If the assessment is positive, you will receive a link to access the scholarship application form.

The documents required to apply for a scholarship are detailed in Section 6 of the Scholarship Program Terms and Conditions.

Each applicant is responsible for reviewing that section carefully and submitting all mandatory documents within the prescribed deadlines.

Missing or incomplete documents, or documents that do not adequately substantiate the family’s financial circumstances, may prevent the application from being assessed.

For reference, the equivalent grades in the main international education systems are:

• IB (International Baccalaureate): 33/42 points
• French Baccalauréat: 16.2/20 points
• German Abitur: 11.7/15 points or 1.9/4
• A-Levels: A* A* A*
• US High School Diploma (USHSD): GPA of 3.6/4

For education systems with different grading scales, the minimum passing grade in each system will be taken into account when calculating equivalence.

It depends on the type of support awarded.

The Diversity scholarship can be combined with an Income Share Agreement (ISA), subject to the program’s current terms and conditions and availability under each call.

We recommend reviewing the specific terms and conditions of the relevant call for the applicable details.

Accommodation support is linked exclusively to the Local Transformation scholarship and the Changemakers scholarship.

This support covers the monthly cost of accommodation for 10 months (September to June). However, the recipient must cover any additional expenses associated with the accommodation or their stay, such as meals, transport, deposits, administrative fees or any other costs not expressly included in the support awarded.

The definition of family income is exactly the same for families residing in Spain and for international families.

It therefore means the sum of all annual income received by the family unit, regardless of the country of residence or the source of the income.

The financial assessment will take into account income substantiated by official documents, including salaries, professional or business activities, rental income, returns on assets and any other relevant sources of income.

The documents submitted must clearly and verifiably substantiate the family’s financial circumstances.

The application must be submitted in full. Missing documents may prevent the Committee from assessing your application.

You must notify the Scholarship Program of any significant changes.

The Committee’s decisions are made following an individual assessment that takes all the circumstances of the application into account. They are therefore final and binding.

Do not worry: the list of documents indicates the type of financial information we need from each candidate and their family. If a document has a different name in your country, you can provide the document whose content most closely matches it. If the requested document does not exist, you can provide financial information through supplementary documents.

Scholarship renewal is not automatic and is subject to meeting both financial and academic requirements.

Financial requirements

The recipient must continue to demonstrate the financial need that justified the initial scholarship award.

These circumstances must be substantiated again by submitting the official documents required for each renewal process.

Academic requirements

The recipient must:

• Maintain a minimum average grade of 7.5 out of 10 across all subjects taken during the academic year.
• Rank at least within the “decil 40” of their year group.

Being in the “decil 40” means that the student must be among the top 40% of students in their year group by academic performance, according to the internal ranking compiled annually by Esade.

Example: In a year group of 200 students, the scholarship recipient must be among the 80 students with the best academic results.

Failure to meet any of the financial or academic requirements may result in a reduction in the scholarship percentage awarded or even non-renewal of the scholarship.
