América Economía includes ESADE Full-Time MBA in global top ten for fourth consecutive year

The ESADE Full-Time MBA ranks third worldwide in network power

América Economía has ranked the ESADE Full-Time MBA ninth worldwide, positioning ESADE in the global top ten business schools to pursue an MBA for the fourth consecutive year. For Josep Franch, dean of ESADE Business School, this recognition ‘underscores the institution’s commitment to Latin America, where ESADE also offers the Multinational MBA, in collaboration with Adolfo Ibáñez University, and where 29% of current Full-Time MBA students are from’. Latin American students are increasingly interested in European business schools. In the last five years, this interested has focused on schools in Spain to the detriment of English-speaking schools.

Amongst the aspects rated most highly by América Economía in creating the ranking are the professional advancement of Latin American graduates and their participation in conferences and training projects with other companies in the region. The ESADE Full-Time MBA placed third worldwide for this indicator, which the ranking’s authors call ‘network power’. It also ranked ninth in ‘international positioning’, for which the Latin American publication looks at study tours, career treks and, especially, exchanges with other universities and the percentage of international students in the classroom. A total of 97% of the 187 students in the ESADE Full-Time MBA 2020 graduating class are international (51 nationalities).

Excellence and innovation

Other indicators contributing to ESADE’s ranking as the ninth best business school to pursue an MBA worldwide (#5 in Europe) are multicultural experience (#10) and innovation (#20). With regard to the latter category, América Economía highlighted the flexibility of the programme, which is characterised by its focus on students, custom-designed programmes, international faculty and a teaching method that combines case studies with teamwork and real projects and proposals for companies. MBA students also share the Sant Cugat campus with their counterparts from the Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) and various MSc programmes in Management, with whom they exchange experiences in the context of the ESADECREAPOLIS innovation centre.

Finally, the Latin American publication also recognised the excellence and diversity of the ESADE Full-Time MBA students. Although most have backgrounds in economics and business management (48%) or engineering (30%), a significant number also come from the humanities and social sciences (5%), law (5%), sciences and health (4%) and art (4%). As for their professional background, ESADE Full-Time MBA students have, on average, six years of work experience in a variety of sectors, including industry, general services, financial services, consulting and technology.
