The construction and real estate sectors have been hit hard by the pandemic. Despite not being at the epicenter of the crisis as in the previous recession, the pandemic has accelerated a downward trend that had begun in 2019. Thus, in the central months of the pandemic, employment, new construction and sales have decreased by 30%.

In this Policy Insight we address some of the public policy options that are being considered.
