Kyriaki Papageorgiou, Ph.D.

Kyriaki Papageorgiou is a Senior Researcher and Marie Curie Fellow at the Institute of Innovation and Knowledge Management, ESADE, Spain. She is a founding member of the Forum for Euro-Mediterranean Innovation in Action and serves as an expert in various policy and societal initiatives that support research and innovation across the region. She has a PhD in Social and Cultural Anthropology with an emphasis in Science and Technology Studies from the University of California, Irvine.
  
Kyriaki's academic work has addressed questions of epistemology and scientific uncertainties, focusing on genetics, agricultural biotechnology, biosafety, food security and bioethics. Her current research draws on the theory and methods developed by anthropologists studying techno-science and knowledge experts to examine social, technological and business innovation side-by-side. She is particularly interested in how innovation is perceived differently in different settings and how exactly it emerges and makes a positive contribution to society as a whole.
  
Kyriaki is the recipient of numerous research grants from competitive funding agencies such as the US National Science Foundation (NSF), the EU Marie Curie Actions, the Wenner-Gren Foundation, Fulbright and UNESCO. She has worked for the Delegation of the European Union to Egypt and has served as an independent expert to Egypt´s Ministry of Scientific Research, the Canadian International Development Research Center, and the European Commission´s Directorate for Research and Innovation.

Nuria Nadal is a PhD candidate in Management Sciences at ESADE. She completed a Bachelor and MS in Business Administration. In 2010, she received her MRes in Management Sciences from ESADE Business School, and now she is enrolling her Phd, in Research Management, focusing on understanding managerial practices in research organizations.
 
On the professional side, she worked as a Marketing and Accounts Manager, from 2004 to 2007, for FXstreet.com. In 2007, she joined the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, one of the top research organizations in Spain, as a Research Project Manager.

Sabrina Moreira Ottani, Ph.D. Candidate

Sabrina Moreira Ottani is a PhD candidate in Management Sciences at ESADE-URL and her studies are supported by the Programme Alβan, the European Union Programme of High Level Scholarship for Latin America, scholarship nº E07D402774BR. She holds an MRes degree in Management Sciences from the ESADE Business School – University Ramon Llull (Spain), an MA degree in International Business from the University of Greenwich (England) and a BA degree in Economics from the university of Brasilia (Brazil).

Sabrina’s research interests cover: the process of knowledge transfer at inter-organisational level, the role of knowledge brokers in complex collaborative environments, knowledge management in innovation networks. Her research currently explores the process of knowledge transfer in innovation networks, focusing on how relational and cognitive dimensions influence/affect such transfer and the relevant role that knowledge brokers may assume in facilitating this process. Prior to joining ESADE PhD Programme, Sabrina worked in the Centre for Strategic Studies and Management in Science, Technology and Innovation (supervised by the Ministry of Science and Technology - Brazil) as a strategic management analyst, in BrasilTelecom (a Brazilian Telecommunication Company) at the Strategic Vice-Presidency and also for some Brazilian Federal Government Institutions such as the National Water Agency and the Institute of Applied Economic Research (Ministry of Planning, Budget and Management – Brazil).

Zahra Solouki, Ph.D. Candidate

Zahra is a PhD candidate in Management Sciences at ESADE URL. She is interested in organization theory and knowledge transfer. Zahra completed Bachelor of Arts in Literary Studies. She then shifted to business and management field and got a masters degree in International Business. Prior to starting her PhD, Zahra worked as a management consultant for over a year.

Zev Lowe, Ph.D. Candidate

Zev Lowe is a Ph.D candidate under the supervision of Professor Jonathan Wareham. His interests lie in social entrepreneurship; in particular, how the use of technology can meet needs with resources in efficient ways. He manages the research and operations for Worldreader, a social enterprise that aims to make digital books available to all in the developing world. He has also collaborated with Kiva, assisting a microfinance organization in Indonesia with their risk management.
 
Zev's teaching activities include business policy and finance courses in ESADE's MBA and Global Executive MBA programs. He holds a degree in Computer Science and Anthropology from Dartmouth College and an MBA in Finance from ESADE Business School.
 

Laia Pujol, PhD Candidate

Laia Pujol is PhD Candidate at ESADE Business School, Ramon Llull University in the Institute for Innovation and Knowledge Management (IIK). She obtained a Master of Research in Management Science by ESADE and MSc in Political Science by Institute of Political Studies in Paris (Sciences Po). Previous to start the PhD, Laia worked for 12 years on design and implementation of digital innovation policies for governments at regional and international level. She has previously carried research on Innovation and Entrepreneurship with IESE Business School but also as an independent expert in the framework of studies for European Commission. Her research interests are in the areas of open science and data-driven innovation.
