Webinar: international and domestic outlook and energy capabilities — Economic and Financial Report #39
Against a backdrop marked by a new energy shock —the conflict in the Middle East and tensions in the Strait of Hormuz— we present the Economic and Financial Report #39 (with the support of Banco Sabadell). The session reviews the most recent international and domestic trends and discusses their implications for the Spanish economy, with a particular focus on energy as a central piece of the new European political economy.
In its first part, the webinar addresses the outlook: the shift “from feared recession to persistent inflation” at the international level and “the moment of transition” for the Spanish economy, which is converging towards its potential growth as the drivers of the last cycle run out of steam. In the second part, it delves into the energy capabilities that Spain and Europe need to build —flexibility, interconnections, storage and electrification— and into how energy policy is also becoming industrial and technology policy.
