ESADE congratulates Dexma for Best Business Initiative award
Xavier Orduña and Joan Pinyol, founders of Dexma, took part in Entrepreneurship course of ESADE One-Year MBA.

The ESADE Entrepreneurship Centre would like to congratulate Xavier Orduña Just, Joan Pinyol and Guillem Corominas for being named Best Business Initiative at the 15th Young Enterprise Awards. The ceremony, organised by the Independent Association of Young Entrepreneurs of Catalonia (AIJEC) and titled “Culture of effort, entrepreneurial culture”, was held last night at the Casa Llotja de Mar in Barcelona.

25-year-old Xavier Orduña is Technical Director of Dexma, a company specialising in wireless sensor networks which was dreamt up in 2006 when Xavier and Joan Pinyol, current Director of Business Development at Dexma, were studying the Entrepreneurship course within the ESADE One-Year MBA.

From the outset, the ESADE Entrepreneurship Centre has fully supported the project, which received the necessary help to draw up a Business Plan. Dexma’s level of innovation and application to a wide range of sectors has gained awards from several institutions, such as Caixa Manresa.

During his speech, Cristian Rovira – President of AIJEC – highlighted the importance of values such as effort, perseverance, entrepreneurial spirit and forecasting future challenges within business activity in Catalonia. Awards were also presented to Eugeni Castejón, in the category Young Entrepreneur 2007 for compostadores.com, and Josep Maria Pujol, President of Ficosa International, for Best Business Career.

AIJEC, the Independent Association of Young Entrepreneurs of Catalonia, represents, manages and defends the professional interests of young entrepreneurs in Catalonia. Since 1993, it has held the Young Entrepreneur Awards in order to encourage and motivate business initiatives amongst young people in Catalonia.
