• IN THE 2010-2011 ACADEMIC YEAR, THE DECLARATION OF BOLOGNA WILL COME INTO FORCE. THIS LAW REGULATES THE NEWLY-CREATED EUROPEAN HIGHER EDUCATION AREA (EHEA), WHICH WILL UNIFY HIGHER EDUCATION STUDIES IN THE 46 EUROPEAN COUNTRIES THAT SIGNED THE DECLARATION.
  • Master Programs with Official Qualifications
How does this legislation affect postgraduate studies? These are the main changes the newly-created EHEA will bring about:
. The normalization of studies in the 46 countries will enhance free mobility, both of students and teachers.

. Masters will have official recognition across Europe, not just from the awarding institution as before.

. An official Master will be required to study a Doctorate program.

. Master Programs will include skills development, such as leadership, teamwork, public speaking etc.
. Credits (1 credit = 10 class hours) will no longer be recognized. Taking their place are ECTS (1 ECTS = 25-30 class hours, personal study, groupwork etc.). An official Master Program will entail the completion of either 60 ECTS (one-year programs) or 120 ECTS (two-year programs). This change also means that the students are the center of the learning process, as opposed to the model centered on the teacher.

.
Official Master students can apply for study scholarships and financing from the Spanish Ministry of Education and the Catalan Autonomous Government.
At ESADE we have already adapted our Full-Time Master Programs to the newly-created EHEA requirements; therefore, to follow one of our Full-Time Masters opens the doors to employment in 46 European countries.

. Full-Time Master in International Business Law
. Full-Time Master in Tax Consultancy and Management
