- THE PHD STUDIES START WITH THE MASTER OF RESEARCH IN LEGAL SCIENCE. THIS SECOND PHASE INTRODUCES THE PHD PROGRAMME IN ITS PREPARATORY PERIOD AND THE DEFENCE OF THE DOCTORAL THESIS, WHICH LEADS TO THE PHD QUALIFICATION.

Master of Research in Legal Science:
Its contents are made up of two parts: the course programming, which is divided into three successive modules, followed by the final degree project for the Master's programme.
The objective of the programme is to teach the methods, competencies, techniques and tools required for legal research through seven subjects (three compulsory subjects in Module I, and two elective subjects in both module II and module III).
Each subject carries 5 ECTS credits, making a total of 35, in which particular emphasis is placed on guided self-study by the students, with classroom hours being reduced to the bare minimum, thus ensuring the programme is more flexible and adaptable.
Once this first part has been completed successfully, the student must prepare the final degree project (25 ECTS credits). The objective is to apply the methods, competencies, techniques and tools learnt in previous courses, in order to prepare an individual, original legal research project, which can link up with the PhD thesis preparation phase.
The project is guided, controlled and supervised by a tutor, who will make sure that the student consolidates their research training. Once the project has been successfully completed, the student will obtain the Master of Research in Legal Science qualification, which will enable them to move on to the second phase.

PhD in Fundamentals of Law, Economic Law and Business Law:
In this, the PhD student will be assigned a tutor who will coordinate their needs with regards the programme and the thesis supervisor(s).
This/these supervisor(s), selected for their speciality and dedication, will be responsible for the thesis fulfilling the parameters of rigour and excellence required by the scientific and academic community.
Throughout both the Master’s degree course and the PhD course, students are encouraged to participate in the faculty’s projects and lines of research, enhancing their research productivity through the publication of research findings and participation in conferences or events of scientific importance.
