To provide basic tools and knowledge of the framework within which the family-run business is managed. A study is made of factors including taxation, management and consultancy that are specific to the family-run business. The management of the family business has a series of special characteristics that differentiates it from other companies. It requires the combination of business and patrimonial-family interests, co-ordinated and satisfied without one overriding or interfering with the other, developing in parallel and avoiding the creation of conflicts of interest.
The programme develops and analyses consultancy aspects, for example inter-family relationships and relationships between company and family, processes of professionalisation and their impact on the permanence of the business and its adaptation to the competitive market. It addresses the financial parameters of both business and family and other fundamental issues such as asset management, funding, limits of indebtedness, financial planning, re-investment of profits, etc.
The legal-fiscal framework of the family business is studied in depth, covering both partnership and company issues, with particular attention to estate and tax planning, company structures suitable for the diverse needs of the family-run business and basic aspects to be considered in dealing with professionalisation processes and drawing up family protocols.
