Programme for Leadership Development (PLD®) Sevilla

ESADE - LOYOLA Leadership School

In the Programme for Leadership Development (PLD), participants learn to view their company comprehensively and acquire the skills they need to lead teams and make efficient decisions.

  • Understand an organisation's needs in a competitive environment.
  • Bring a strategic vision and global perspective to management.
  • Learn about key business functions and how they are interrelated.
  • Develop the necessary executive skills to face new professional challenges with greater security and confidence.
  • Generate new liders with the capabilities of reflexion and social transformation.

ESADE's PLD® is designed for high-potential professionals who carry out executive functions in any of various functional areas within an organisation, executives who occupy management positions in small and medium-sized companies, and entrepreneurs or business owners with the potential for growth. Participants are required to have at least five years of professional experience. Since we aim to create a plural and cooperative learning environment, professionals from all sectors and types of company are welcome.

The PLD® focuses on the following aspects:

Management skills

The programme provides students with in-depth practical knowledge about business management criteria and work methods. This results in substantive improvement in analytical and decision-making skills, greater process-management efficiency, and the alignment of activities and resources with the strategic needs of the organisation.

Executive skills

The programme is an ideal space for students to analyse and reflect on their executive skills and leadership abilities. Our specific methodology - which involves workshops, role-playing activities, teamwork, etc. - helps students to define their own strategy for personal and skill-related development.

Managing personnel and leading teams

The key function of any executive is the ability to make an organisation grow by helping collaborators and members of work teams to grow personally. This is one of the main educational goals of the PLD®. The programme’s various methods address key skills and issues related to personnel management. This particular area is emphasised in some of the programme’s most important modules.

Networking

The programme allows students to expand their professional networks by sharing and comparing their experiences with the other students, with business leaders and with the faculty.

Reflection

The programme offers participants an opportunity for reflection. It provides them the opportunity to stop for a moment, analyse and redefine their role as executives, and refocus their professional activities. They will become more aware of their capacity for social transformation and their responsibility to the environment.

ETEA Leadership School and ESADE Business School have remained faithful to two principles of business education: the conviction that a framework of methodological plurality leads to an enriching experience, and the need to continually innovate in methods and content.

In addition to applying highly effective methodologies that have been used extensively by both institutions, the Programme for Leadership Development relies on innovative methodologies taken from specialised programmes and promotes diversity as a means of delivering a complete learning experience. Participants acquire both emotional and cognitive skills that can immediately improve their performance at work.

Unique training model

Our main methodological priority is to create a true atmosphere of learning. The PLD® cultivates effective teamwork, and the participants - with their different training backgrounds - come together in a collaborative environment. Sessions are taught by faculty from ESADE and Deusto, and by invited executives with extensive experience in academia and the business world. The intensive weeks and the innovative methodology generate a unique intellectual challenge. The evolution of knowledge has fostered progressive specialisation, but the complexity of the problems that arise in our day-to-day work require an ongoing dialogue among the various disciplines and specialities.

Business leaders need to adhere to values such as sustainable development, shared leadership and high-quality people at the service of the community. The PLD® shows executives how to be relevant leaders in the development of their organisations and personnel, within a framework of social innovation and a process of globalisation.

Strategic simulator

The simulator provides interactive experience with business management, especially in the areas of strategic management and business policy.

Students 'manage' a series of companies for the equivalent of three or four years and make decisions in all major functional areas. The simulation gives students the chance to recognise their own skills and enjoy a dynamic experience that combines day-to-day reality with the integrated vision of strategic management.

Leadership forum

The programme features lectures on current-affairs topics by important business leaders. Following the talks, in which they draw on their own extensive experience, the speakers engage in a debate with the students. These sessions allow students to share their concerns as executives with major figures from the business world.
