The Institute of Public Governance and Management (IGDP) is composed of a group of ESADE lecturers, academic assistants, researchers and administrators whose work focuses on governments and public-sector organisations.

The programme aims to contribute to better management with a view to ensuring sustainable public services
 
  • in response to the needs of local public entities against the backdrop of the economic crisis and tighter budgets,
     
  • increasing the management capacities of the executives responsible for managing local authorities.
     
The Management Crisis in Local Entities progrm targets mainly public-sector executives in management posts in town councils and executives responsible for implementing finance and budget control measures, regardless of whether their posts are technical, managerial or political.

The Management Crisis in Local Entities program features participatory, hands-on learning methods combining presentations of theoretical aspects with cases studies, simulations, individual and group exercises, debates and discussions with guest executives.
