Raventós Codorníu CEO at Esade: “Our purpose is value- and brand-oriented”

Sergio Fuster, CEO of Raventós Codorníu, was the keynote speaker at the latest Esade Matins entitled “Purpose-based leadership” where he shared his 25 years of personal experience in the realms of marketing, business and human relations. 

During the session, he emphasized the Raventós Codorníu purpose, i.e. “enhancing the worth of land” by focusing on two key concepts: value and sustainability. “Our purpose is value- and brand-oriented,” stressed Fuster. He emphasized that his wine company only delivers superior quality wine and cava and is a world leader in organic cava: only natural products are used in their vineyard management in order to minimize water and energy consumption. He also underlined that Forbes ranks Raventós Codorníu as one of the best companies to work for in Spain. “Successful, sustainable companies are the ones at the intersection between profits, people and the planet,” he summarized.

A leader with a purpose

The speaker also outlined how to be a leader with purpose, which he believes is based on five pillars: self-knowledge as the path to being genuine; strong points with inherent motivations as the basis of one’s purpose; the values ​​and principles that stem from one’s beliefs and convictions; the search for support, which requires a circle of support able to help one during the lonely adventure of leadership and allow one to reveal one’s vulnerability; and a well-balanced life in which one can set clear priorities and be the same person in every area of life.
