ESADE to add 160 m² space for classes and conferences about robotics, artificial intelligence, and entrepreneurship

ESADE Business & Law School this year becomes the official academic partner for ‘4 Years From Now’ (4YFN), the main event in the field of entrepreneurship and digital innovation organised by Mobile World Capital Barcelona and the GSMA. This year’s 4YFN event will be held on 26-28 February and will bring together entrepreneurs, startups, and professionals. During the event, ESADE will move part of its campus to 4YFN and students on various programmes will attend classes and lectures focussing on three major themes: robotics; artificial intelligence; and entrepreneurship.

This pioneering collaboration is unique in the education sector and directly links the ESADE brand to the 4YFN initiative, which expects to exceed 19,000 attendees this year. The collaboration, which began last year, is extended this year with a new 160 m² lecture space with capacity for 100 people.

Esteban Redolfi, 4YFN Programme Director, commented: “We want 4YFN to introduce students, entrepreneurs and professionals from major corporations to the latest trends and to offer them highly specialised information capsules throughout the event.” He added: “This collaboration between 4YFN and ESADE brings academia and the business world closer together at this complex time, when students are training for professions that don’t even exist yet.”

‘This initiative is part of Student First, an innovative teaching model developed by ESADE that encompasses knowledge, experimentation, and direct contact with the reality of the global economic future’, says Eugenia Bieto, director general of ESADE. ‘This pioneering educational experience is another example of our commitment to innovation and entrepreneurship in the multiple fields of knowledge – and new methodologies that revolutionise teaching’, she added.

Educational innovation and entrepreneurship

Marketing for entrepreneurs, business information visualisation, digital business, and finance for entrepreneurs are some of the subjects that ESADE will offer as an official partner in the 4YFN space. ESADE also expects some 400 students to pass through the space, most being international students from programmes such as: Master in Innovation and Entrepreneurship; Master in ICT Law: Social Networks and Intellectual Property; Master in International Management (MIM); Full-time Master in Business Administration (MBA); as well as the Degree in Business Administration (BBA).

ESADE is also giving a series of public talks and meetings as part of a ‘ESADE Speaker Series’ in which professors and outstanding speakers will discuss subjects such as blockchain, cybersecurity, eSports, big data, and e-commerce. In addition, with the aim of bringing together the latest ESADE teaching innovations, a series of roundtables are organised on the future of education and a robotic educational experience will be demonstrated.

At the same time, ESADE will present projects and initiatives from former entrepreneurial students who will share their experience and that of their startups – including Made of Genes, Think. It, B-wom and others.

Debate on artificial intelligence at 4YFN

During the 4YFN gathering for digital entrepreneurs, ESADE will organise a debate on artificial intelligence for one the main discussion tables. The debate will be moderated by Professor Luis Vives, associate dean of the ESADE Full-time MBA and professor at the Department of General Management and Strategy.
